Was Henry Cavill Fired From ‘The Witcher’?
According to a popular theory, Henry Cavill voluntarily left ‘The Witcher‘ because he was frustrated with showrunner Lauren Hissrich and her writing team and the way the team was adapting ‘The Witcher‘ books by Andrzej Sapkowsk. Hissrich recalled, “Henry was so unhappy with the line. Finally, I said, ‘You know what, you come up with something. I trust you, you know this material so well, you know the book so well, you don’t even have to pitch it to me. And he came back the next day with a beautiful speech that’s at the end of Sword of Destiny when Geralt is facing death and it’s such a pitch-perfect moment.”
But as per Deadline, an inside source claimed that Henry Cavill only made a short-term deal with Netlfix to portray Geralt of Rivia. According to the reports, the actor decided the time was right after three seasons to bid farewell to the show.
