Why Does Vince Shoot Jack In ‘Virgin River’?
Vince (Steve Bacic) is the twin brother of Wes (Steve Bacic), Paige’s (Lexa Doig) abusive ex-husband who died after she pushed him down the stairs in self-defense. Paige fled Virgin River with her son Christopher (Chase Petriw) and asked Preacher (Colin Lawrence) to help her cover up Wes’ death. However, Vince tracked them down and kidnapped Christopher, hoping to get some answers about his brother’s fate.
But that’s not all. Vince also had another target in mind: Jack. Why? Because he blamed him for helping Paige escape from Wes. In a flashback scene in the season 4 finale, we see Vince arriving at Jack’s bar looking for Preacher, but finding Jack instead. Jack recognizes him as Wes’ twin and tries to defend himself with a knife, but Vince shoots him with a gun and runs away.

Who Does Vince Frame For His Crime?
You might remember that Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Jack’s former friend and fellow Marine, was arrested for Jack’s attempted murder at the end of season 3. The police found a gun in his car that matched the bullet that wounded Jack. However, Brady claimed he was innocent and had nothing to do with the shooting. Turns out, he was telling the truth. The gun was planted in his car by Vince, who wanted to divert the suspicion from himself. And who helped Vince do that?
None other than Calvin (David Cubitt), Virgin River’s drug lord and Brady’s former boss. Calvin had a grudge against Jack for trying to shut down his illegal operation, so he agreed to help Vince frame Brady. Fortunately, Jack recovered his memory and cleared Brady’s name. He also confronted Vince and Preacher rescued Christopher from him. But what will happen to Vince now? Will he face justice for his crimes? Will Paige ever return to Virgin River? We’ll have to wait for season 5 to find out.
