Adam Scott, who received a nomination for an Emmy for his role in the critically acclaimed drama ‘Severance,’ has joined the cast of the upcoming superhero movie ‘Madame Web.’ The film stars Dakota Johnson as the titular character – a clairvoyant whose psychic skills allow her to see through the spider world itself.
The character Madame Web, who was an ally of Spider-Man in the Marvel comics, will have her origin story told in the next movie, which will be produced by Sony.

Adam Scott is joining the cast of Sony’s superhero thriller ‘Madame Web‘ only a few days after he was nominated for an Emmy for Apple TV+’s popular drama ‘Severance.’
Madame Web, played by Dakota Johnson, is a clairvoyant who is able to glimpse into the spider world. The movie will tell the character’s genesis tale.
Additionally, there are Emmy nominees Sydney Sweeney, Emma Roberts, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, and Mike Epps in the cast. The Sony-Marvel universe spinoff is directed by S.J. Clarkson, who also serves as an executive producer on the film. The script was written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.

Madame Web is a clairvoyant mutant who was first depicted in the comic book titled ‘The Amazing Spider-Man No. 210‘ in 1980. She is an expert in predicting the future of Spider-themed superheroes and has trained not only Peter Parker’s alter ego, but also multiple generations of heroes who call themselves Spider-Woman. Madame Web was first introduced in this issue.
She is traditionally portrayed as an elderly lady who is blind and immobile. She is encircled by a machine that looks like a web and it is vital for her survival. This means that she avoids direct battle and instead directs others to complete their duties.
