“Add To The Cart”: Twitter Is Spinning Out About Elon Musk Potentially Buying WHO From His Professional Rival Bill Gates

Twitter has gone haywire over Elon Musk’s latest move. An entrepreneur’s request for WHO acquisition might have set the wheels in motion for Elon Musk. The tweet came from Dr. Eli David, who proposed the former Twitter CEO buy WHO from Microsoft founder Bill Gates. What was stranger than the request was the fact Elon Musk took the time to respond to it.

Despite being brilliant minds and tech billionaires, Elon Musk and Bill Gates haven’t seen eye to eye. But if the Tesla boss makes the right offer, he might add another organization to his ever-expanding portfolio. People are making much of this tweet because the last time Musk showed interest, he purchased Twitter.

Elon Musk Inquires About The Cost Of WHO

Is Elon Musk interested in buying WHO?

Once again, Elon Musk has got everyone talking. The tech billionaire is not done with buying assets and using them to solve global connectivity problems. His next destination is not a piece of technology but to eliminate diseases and pandemics. While Musk hasn’t discussed it publicly, his price queries indicate genuine interest.

It all started with Dr. Eli David’s tweet to Musk asking if the billionaire could buy Bill Gates’ share of WHO. Bill Gates, who contributed roughly 15% to WHO’s funding in 2019, is said to have too much influence over the organization’s interest. Dr. Eli wants someone with the power to buy Gates’ WHO shares and run the organization democratically, asking, “.@elonmusk, can you buy WHO from Bill Gates and make it about health?”

Elon Musk gets tweets like this daily where people either blame him or call him a messiah. The world took notice of this tweet when Musk began asking for primary details in his tweet, “How much does it cost?” Dr. David quickly came up with calculations and responded to him with a price from which Musk could start to negotiate- WHO’s annual budget is $7B while its yearly losses come up to more than $700B.

Elon Musk has got everyone talking once again

At this point, it’s great PR for Elon Musk and exciting news for the stockholders. But in the future, he must grant some degree of autonomy to the organization. As far as Twitter goes, people are losing their minds over this potential deal. @dorissiefen sees this as just another business deal from one businessman to another and asks in her tweet, “Is this irony ?”

Another user @LeslieT85946348 makes a great point that makes it seem like a waste of financial resources, “They spend more on travel than anything else.”

@wood_biggie wants to know how Dr. David came up with the numbers and the factors that went into his decision, “How are you doing your costing? Life expectancy has increased by >16years since its inauguration. Are you perhaps equating increased life expectancy as a societal cost? Curious”
