‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’: Marvel Reveals New Look Of ‘Shuri’ And ‘Okoye’ Amidst Trailer Rumors

Marvel Studios has a huge responsibility of bringing the critical and mass acclaimed ‘Black Panther’ sequel back on the big screen and they are making sure that nothing goes wrong. The journey for the team to film ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ was tumultuous. They had to shoot in the middle of a global pandemic, the tragic loss of Chadwick Boseman, and controversies surrounding other actors.

Nevertheless, the film is on the cards of being released later this year. Currently, Marvel is focusing on Taika Waititi’s helmed ‘Thor: Love And Thunder.’ The immediate feature release will be the ‘Black Panther’ sequel. Recently, there were rumors that the film’s trailer will be released during the NBA Finals on Friday. Although the rumors came out to be hoaxes, the first looks of the two integral characters are out.

First Looks Of Okoye And Shuri In ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Released

The sequel is set to release in November this year. Marvel Studios in a collaboration with Sprite released pictures of Okoye and Shuri in a billboard commercial. Okoye (Danai Gurira) was part of Dora Milaje with Nakia. In the Cinematic Universe, she appeared in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ Shuri (Letitia Wright), is the daughter of King T’Chaka and sister of T’Challa. She is also the lead designer and innovator in Wakanda.

Chadwick Boseman played the titular role in the film. Due to his demise, it is a great task to carry forward the actor’s legacy and the Wakanda Mantle. In an interview, the producer Kevin Feige explained, “So much of the comics and that first movie is the world of Wakanda. Wakanda is a place to further explore with characters and different subcultures. This was always and initially the primary focus of the next story.”

Marvel’s head honcho added while talking about filling Boseman’s shoes, “We’re not going to have a CG Chadwick and we’re not recasting T’Challa. Ryan Coogler is working very hard right now on the script with all the respect and love and genius that he has, which gives us great solace, so it was always about furthering the mythology and the inspiration of Wakanda. There’s also the task of honoring and respecting the ongoing learnings and teachings from Chad as well.”
