Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are married! The couple had a surprise wedding, away from the media glare. The wedding day was not without its fair share of drama. Britney’s ex-husband Jason Alexander, 40, live-streamed himself breaking into her home on Thursday afternoon, just hours prior to the ceremony.
The pop icon later revealed about having “had a panic attack” before the intimate ceremony at her and Sam’s California home.
Britney Spears’ Ex-Husband Crashes Her Wedding
Britney Spears did not elaborate on the specifics that caused the panic attack. But it is possible that her ex-husband Jason Alexander’s attempt to crash the wedding may have contributed to it. He was arrested and charged with trespassing and vandalism. Spears and Asghari were granted a restraining order against him.
The 40-year-old musician shared a series of wedding photos on Instagram and wrote, “Wow!!! Holy holy crap!!! WE DID IT!!! WE GOT MARRIED!!! Gggggeeeeezzzzz!!! It was the most spectacular day!!! I was so nervous all morning but then at 2:00 pm it really hit me…WE’RE GETTING MARRIED. I had a panic attack and then got it together.”
The ‘Toxic‘ singer celebrated this joyous occasion. One of the highlights though was when she kissed Madonna, recreating their infamous 2003 kiss. She then danced “into the night” with Paris Hilton before showing appreciation to Donatella Versace, who created her custom wedding gown. Her jeweler Stephanie Gottlieb, who designed the newlyweds’ rings, and Charlotte and Sofia Tillbury, her makeup artists, also joined her.
Spears And Asghari’s Relationship Timeline
The pair first met on the set of Spears’ “Slumber Party” music video. The connection felt by the duo made them inseparable. They were spotted at late-night dinners and at friends’ birthday parties.
The couple dated for five long years. On September 12, 2021, Asghari proposed to Spears. After that, came the surprise wedding. Spears announced she was pregnant last month. “Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news,” the statement read. “Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family.” But unfortunately, the singer suffered a miscarriage.
“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,” the two wrote in a joint Instagram post. “This is a devastating time for any parent.“
