The Country Music Association Awards, also called the CMA Awards, hosted this year’s ceremony last Wednesday. The night started with a moving tribute to the late Loretta Lynn. The performance was given by Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, and Carrie Underwood.
Lainey Wilson, a first-time nominee going into the show, ended the night with major wins, including new artist of the year and female vocalist of the year. Other performers included Kelly Clarkson, Carly Pearce, and Luke Bryan who performed as a host alongside Peyton Manning.

Song/Album Winners At CMA Awards 2022
In the ‘SINGLE OF THE YEAR‘ category, the winning position was bagged by ‘Till You Can’t’ by Cody Johnson. The other nominees were ‘Buy Dirt’ by Jordan Davis, ‘Half My Hometown’ by Kelsea Ballerini, ‘Never Wanted To Be That Girl’ by Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde and ‘You Should Probably Leave’ by Chris Stapleton.
‘ALBUM OF THE YEAR‘ category included winner Luke Combs for his album ‘Growin’ Up’. Other nominations were ‘Humble Request’ by Maren Morris, ‘Palomino’ by Miranda Lambert, ‘Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin” by Lainey Wilson and ‘Time, Tequila & Therapy’ by Old Dominion.
In the album ‘SONG OF THE YEAR‘, the winning position was bagged by the song ‘Buy Dirt’ by Jordan Davis. Other nominations were ‘Never Wanted To Be That Girl’ by Carly Pearce, ‘Sand In My Boots’ by Morgan Wallen, ‘Things A Man Oughta Know’ by Lainey Wilson and ‘You Should Probably Leave’ by Chris Stapleton.
The next category is ‘MUSICAL EVENT OF THE YEAR‘ which has been won by Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde’s album ‘Never Wanted To Be That Girl’. Other nominations in this category include ‘Beers On Me’ by Dierks Bentley, ‘If I Didn’t Love You’ by Jason Aldean & Carrie Underwood, ‘Longneck Way To Go’ by Midland and ‘Never Say Never’ by Cole Swindell with Lainey Wilson.
‘MUSIC VIDEO OF THE YEAR‘ has been bagged by Cody Johnson’s ‘Till You Can’t.’‘ Other nominations in this category include ‘I Bet You Think About Me‘ by Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version), ‘Longneck Way To Go‘ by Midland, ‘Never Say Never’ by Cole Swindell & Lainey Wilson and ‘Never Wanted To Be That Girl’ by Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde.

Follows this the ‘MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR‘ whose winner is Chris Stapleton. Other nominees included Eric Church, Luke Combs, Cody Johnson and Morgan Wallen.
‘VOCAL GROUP OF THE YEAR‘ is won by Old Dominion. Other nominees in this category are Lady A, Little Big Town, Midland and Zac Brown Band.
Whereas ‘VOCAL DUO OF THE YEAR‘ is won by Brothers Osborne. Other nominations in this category are Brooks & Dunn, Dan + Shay, LOCASH and Maddie & Tae.
The ‘MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR‘ has been given to Jenee Fleenor for ‘Fiddle’. Other nominees are Paul Franklin for ‘Steel Guitar,’ Brent Mason for ‘Guitar,’ Ilya Toshinskiy for ‘Banjo’ and Derek Wells for ‘Guitar.’
The last category, which is the ‘NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR‘ is won by Lainey Wilson. The rest of the nominees include HARDY, Walker Hayes, Cody Johnson and Parker McCollum.
