Having earned his pedigree with sci-fi hits like ‘Blade Runner 2049’ and ‘Arrival,’ Dennis Villeneuve made ‘Dune.’ In the hands of Canadian filmmaker, Frank Herbert’s seminal and unfilmable sci-fi dystopian novel got a sweeping adaptation that served brilliantly to the story’s epic nature. And now comes the sequel, ‘Dune 2.’
Fans of the novel and the first ‘Dune’ can barely contain their excitement. Cinephiles are excited about Paul Atreides’s journey and the characters who became a part of it. Joining the ranks of the sequel is the Oscar-nominated actress Florence Pugh, who plays a crucial character in the movie.

All About Florence Pugh’s ‘Dune’ 2 Character
Florence Pugh is playing Princes Irulan in the much-awaited ‘Dune’ sequel. In Frank Herbert’s science fiction opus, Irulan is the novel’s narrator. Many of her writings are used as epigraphs before every chapter in the book. She plays the daughter of the 81st Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV and Anirul, a Bene Gesserit of Hidden Rank. In the novel, she marries Paul Atreides, who continues to pine for Chani.
Director Denis Villeneuve told Vanity Fair about the significance of Pugh’s character in the novel, saying, “Her stake could not be higher because she’s afraid that her father could lose the throne, could lose everything.” The director spoke highly of the Oscar-nominated actress, describing her as “inherently royal.” He was struck by “how direct, how unapologetic” the young actress was.
