Former US President Donald Trump seemed to be contemplating his weight gain after he had a look at the courtroom sketch of himself during a hearing at the New York County Supreme Court. Trump was at the court for his ongoing fraud trial.
After he happened to see a sketch of himself made by artists Jane Rosenberg and Isabelle Brourman, he said with a touch of humor, “I gotta lose some weight.” Even after Trump made the light-hearted but self-deprecating comment, he approved of the sketch as he deemed it a “nice” one.

Donald Trump’s Weight Has Been A Topic Of Discussion For Long Time
The artists are hired to capture the trial proceedings, as is a normal practice in the US. This is mostly because photography is not allowed during the trial, but the media needs access to the visuals at the trial proceedings.
The Republican leader’s comments come while his weight has been a topic of discussion, and was more so while he was serving as the President of the US. In 2019, he weighed around 243 pounds leading a medical examination to categorize him as obese.
However, his then physician Dr Sean Conley had confirmed that the former President is in overall good health and predicted his well-being “for the remainder of his presidency and beyond.”

Ex-President’s Love For Fast Food Is In Public Domain
The ex-president is also infamous for his love for fast food and ridicule of exercise. Multiple times in the past, his weight has drawn health recommendations. White House physician Dr Ronny L Jackson had in 2018 advised him to reduce his consumption of hamburgers, and instead add salads to his meals to maintain a healthier diet.
Trump at the time had also revealed his plan to “lose 10 to 15 pounds” in the coming few months. However, he had already fallen into the obese range by the time the following year approached.
As the fraud trial against Trump continues, the former president is set to testify for the second time on Monday, December 11. The courtroom sketches meanwhile continue to give the media and the viewers a sneak peek into the proceedings underway inside the courtroom.
