Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym and Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark have often been compared due to their wit. Both Hank Pym and Tony Stark are brilliant scientists and inventors in the Marvel Comics universe. They both have complex personalities, dealing with personal struggles and moral dilemmas.
However, while Tony Stark got his iconic end Hank Pym is still very much alive. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly Douglas talked about wanting his character to die in ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania’, which was the third film of the ‘Ant-Man’ franchise.
He talked about requesting Marvel to kill his character in the third movie. He explained that he wanted his death to be a serious one with all the impressive special effects. “I said I’d like to have a serious death with all these great special effects. There’s got to be some fantastic way where I can shrink to an ant size and explode, whatever it is. I want to use all those effects.”
Additionally, it seems like Michael is tired of portraying his character and seriously wants the end of it. When asked about Hank’s future Douglas was quick to say that he was ‘not going to show up.’ “But, that was on the last one. Now, I don’t think I’m going to show up,” he said.
