Another actor has accused Bill Murray of inappropriate behavior on the set. ‘Dying Of Politeness: A Memoir’ is Geena Davis’ new book, where she recalled uncomfortable instances on the sets of ‘Quick Change.’ The ‘Ghostbusters’ actor has a bad reputation for brash behavior.
Many people have come out to share their Bill Murray set nightmare. In 2021, his ‘Charlie’s Angels’ co-star Lucy Liu recalled an experience where Murray hurled insults at her. He apparently used “inexcusable and unacceptable” language. His ex-wife, Jennifer Butler has also accused him of infidelity, abuse, and abandonment. Now, Davis has spoken about her nightmare of an experience working with him.

“He Wouldn’t Relent”: Geena Davis Recalls An Incident With Bill Murray
Davis debuted in the industry with the 1982 comedy ‘Tootsie’. She then went on to do some remarkable work. However, very early on in her career, she had to face the dark side of this male-dominated industry. In her memoir, Geena Davis reflected on two uneasy encounters while working with Bill Murray on ‘Quick Change.’ The cast had an audition reading at a hotel, where she pens that Murray “insisted” on using a massager even when she was reluctant.
Genna Davis wrote, “I said no multiple times, but he wouldn’t relent.” She was relatively new to the industry, due to which, she, unfortunately, did not have a say.
She recalled, “I would have had to yell at him and cause a scene if I was to get him to give up trying to force me to do it; the other men in the room did nothing to make it stop. I realized with profound sadness that I didn’t yet have the ability to withstand this onslaught — or to simply walk out.” She reluctantly obliged to have him use it on her back for two seconds.

Bill Murray Yelled At The Actress In Front Of The Crew
The ‘Thelma & Louie’ actress wrote about another incident on the New York schedule of the film. The actor stormed near Davis’ van and screamed at her in front of 300 people. To put things in context, she explained that due to an unfit costume, the wardrobe department was helping her to adjust it. However, Bill, in a fit of anger, banged at the vanity door violently and yelled, “What the f**k are you doing?” He stormed inside the van and screamed in her ear, “out of the trailer, onto the street.”
The incident left her shaking and ashamed. She also cited the reason for writing about these incidents to show how “so many women in a situation like that, I didn’t know how to avoid being treated that way.” Geena Davis has not talked to him since the promotional events of that film. The actress decided not to work with him again saying, “I figure it’s sort of rather universally known that he could be difficult to work with. And so I don’t feel like I’m busting him in a way that will necessarily shock him. I think he knows very well the way he can behave.”
