“I Was Just Sitting In A Chair With A Helmet On”: Scarlett Johansson Describes Her Weird Audition For Alfonso Cuarón’s ‘Gravity’

Scarlett Johansson is giving the lowdown on her failed audition for the 2013 film ‘Gravity.’ The 38 year-old-actress was in contention for the female lead, which eventually went to Sandra Bullock. Johansson, who’s been acting since she was seven, still remembers the sparse audition where she had to pretend to be in space while sitting on a chair.

While she has gone on to establish herself as a major movie star with Marvel movies, there are significant projects that didn’t go her way. To date, she has regrets about missing out on ‘Gravity.’ Losing the lead in the 2013 space thriller gave her professional and personal anxiety about the kind of actor she wanted to be.
