Brie Larson Leaving Captain Marvel?
Variety asked Larson at the D23 Expo, “How long will you play Captain Marvel?” The actress responded sarcastically, “I don’t know. Does anyone want me to do it again?” “Don’t be so modest,” said the Variety interviewer, but Larson retorted, “I really don’t know. I don’t know the answer to that.”
This hints that the actress doesn’t know if her character has a future in the Marvel franchise. Her answer that people might not “want” her to do the role is because she received some opposition from a section of Marvel fans about her portrayal as ‘Captain Marvel’.

Why Hate Towards Captain Marvel?
After her role as ‘Captain Marvel’ Brie was targeted a lot on social media. Most of the fans after seeing the movie commented that her character’s personality didn’t sit well with them and that her acting was unengaging.
Another reason for the hate towards the character was that it was fairly a new addition to an elaborate storyline that has been built up for more than a decade. Most of the main characters in the Marvel franchise had a certain character growth arc, whilst Captain Marvel did not overcome anything throughout her movie nor question her moralities.
The character was also hated a lot because of her personal opinions of Larson in an interview against male fans. She claimed that she did not care about what the male fans had to say because the movie was not made for them. However, the actress is returning to the franchise in the upcoming sequel, ‘The Marvels’. The movie will release in theatres across the nation on July 28, 2023, as part of Phase 5 of the MCU.
