Elon Musk has been fascinated by Twitter for a long time. He loves spending time on the micro-blogging site and often shares memes, posts, and his opinions on the platform. This is what drove him to buy the company for $44 billion after a long and messy legal battle last year in October.
Ever since the acquisition, the South African billionaire has made several dramatic changes in the company. This includes mass layoffs and the introduction of new policies. Recently, it has been reported that Musk might have changed the name of the company. Let’s find out the details.

Elon Musk Changes Twitter’s Name
At Twitter’s headquarter in San Francisco, a huge plate mentioning the company’s name is placed. Recently, someone covered the word ‘W‘ in it. This change is reportedly inspired by a poll Elon Musk conducted in April last year.

In it, the Tesla CEO had asked users if they would like if ‘w‘ was removed from Twitter’s name. The poll received massive engagement, with many voting Yes. However, it was later deleted.
William LeGate, CEO of Pillow Fight, has taken a dig at Musk for such a childish change. “Elon Musk, in a remarkable show of maturity, has removed the “w” from Twitter’s logo outside their San Francisco HQ. The company now reads as “Titter“, he wrote.

Musk Changed The Bird Logo With Dogecoin Meme
Last week, Musk changed the iconic blue bird logo of Twitter and replaced it with a dog. It is the same “doge” that inspired the internet meme and the moniker of the dogecoin cryptocurrency.
This logo change turned out to be profitable for the crypto brand as its market value quickly increased by $4 billion. Musk has been a vocal admirer of the cryptocurrency brand that started out as a joke.
In the past, he has promoted the brand on Twitter as well as in his appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live‘. The billionaire cleared the air behind the name change by sharing a screenshot of his conversation with a user from last year. “As promised”, Musk wrote. A user had asked him to buy Twitter and “change the bird logo to a doge.”
