Melanie Lynskey is opening the door to her ‘Two And A Half Men‘ character. The ‘Yellowjackets’ star is not opposed to playing Rose, the stalker character, one more time. The show ran from 2003 to 2015, but Charlie Sheen was fired from the show in 2011 following a public feud with his boss Chuck Loore.
But time heals, as Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre are reuniting for an HBO series. Sheen will have a recurring role in Lorre’s series ‘How To Be A Bookie.’ As for the ‘Two And A Half Men’ reboot, Melanie Lynskey can’t wait to reunite with them one more time, now that Charlie Sheen seems to be doing better.

Charlie Sheen‘s firing from ‘Two And A Half Men’ was a messy affair. But a few years and several mistakes later, Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre seem to have worked out their grievances. Melanie Lynskey appreciates this reunion. Given how things are looking for Charlie Sheen’s mental health, she’s looking forward to playing Ross again if a reboot comes calling.
Melanie Lynskey told Variety’s ‘Awards Circuit’ podcast, “The last time I was texting with Charlie, he seemed to be in such a good place, like an honestly good place,” I always hope the best for both of them [Sheen and Lorre]. Honestly. I think that’s amazing. I mean, I’d do a guest star if they want. There were moments on that show that were so fun. And I do genuinely love live audience sitcoms. There’s nothing like the energy of it, especially when people know the show and love the show.”

Melanie Lynskey also talked about the pain behind her ‘Yellowjackets’ character. Lynskey plays Shauna, a woman struggling to move on from her monstrous past. In the flashback, we find out she has lost her child. This scene had a huge tie to her personal life. Lynskey had lost a child too, and it wasn’t something she had talked about in public.
Melanie Lynskey said, “I’ve talked about it publicly so many times, but in the first episode, I had just had a pregnancy loss in my own life and I couldn’t talk about it. I couldn’t ask [the show’s creators] what happened. I had a weird wall up about it. But so did the character in the first season. It was just something that wasn’t discussed in my timeline. And then this season, I think I had enough distance that I was like, okay, I can start to get into it. At the same time as older Shawna is also letting herself remember and feel it.”
