In the latest episode of ‘The Best Of Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival’ on Netflix, Jimmy Carr shocked fans yet again by making a controversial joke about the attacks of September 11, 2001, that were carried out by the Al-Qaeda with its commander as Osama bin Laden.
The joke comes only a few months after the 49-year-old comedian enraged viewers of the streaming giant by making a stunning wisecrack regarding Roma gypsies and the Holocaust in the show ‘Jimmy Carr: His Dark Material‘ that aired last year.

Jimmy Carr Criticized For Comparing 9/11 To Zayn Malik’s One Direction Departure
Jimmy Carr’s new joke is included in the recently released ‘The Best Of Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival’. In it, he makes a comparison between the terrorist attacks in New York City in 2001, which resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 people, and the moment in 2015 when Zayn Malik left the British band, One Direction.
Jimmy stated, “Now you might think this is silly, but it’s absolutely true. When Zayn left One Direction, for me, it was like 9/11 — I didn’t care about that either. I was actually supposed to be on one of the planes on 9/11, but the more interesting story is how I met Osama.”
It comes after Jimmy sparked controversy when he joked on his Netflix special last year that the ‘thousands of gypsies slain by the Nazis‘ were a ‘good‘ outcome of the Holocaust.
Even though there have been requests for the celebrity to be canceled in the aftermath of his infamous and “offensive” jokes, Channel 4 supported him. They stated that Carr will continue to host another eight episodes of the game show ‘I Literally Just Told You‘, which debuted last year.
The head of Channel 4, Ian Katz, defended Jimmy’s controversial sense of humor in an interview with Broadcast Magazine, saying, “I defend the rights of comedians to make offensive jokes and if they can’t, then comedy is dead.”
Twitter Slams Carr For His Controversial Joke
The recent comment made by Jimmy Carr in which he compared Zayn Malik’s exit from One Direction to the events of September 11, 2001, has sparked a sensation on social media.
Some people are disgusted by the comedian’s disrespectful statements, while others are standing up for him and justifying his actions. Carr’s comparison might strike some people as funny, but many others believe that he is mocking the sufferings of the horrific events of September 11.

He doesn’t even want to be a comedian , only to offend people, the only reason he stays relevant, I wouldn’t even pay him with milk bottle tops.

The late Barry Took once talked about second-rate comedians who built an early reputation based on outrage and foul language, but who were ultimately found out through lack of talent.@jimmycarr
