Kanye West is no longer a billionaire! The reason is the rapper himself. The strings of controversies led to West dethroning himself as a billionaire. It all started when the industry and netizens called out Kanye for his ‘White Lives Matter’ shirt during the Paris Fashion Week.
This did not stop there. The ‘Donda’ rapper then went on to make some hate-spewing comments about the Jewish community. He held no qualms about doing so. Therefore, major brands like Balenciaga started pulling plugs from the deals with him and Yeezy. The final nail in the coffin was when Adidas pulled the plug and Kanye was no more a billionaire. Now, another hip-hop artist has taken his place to become the second-wealthiest rapper.
Sean “Diddy” Combs Replaces Kanye West In The Race Of The Wealthiest Hip-Hop Artist
Back in 2017, videos and blogs were surfacing claiming that he is the first Hip-Hop artist to gain billionaire status. The ‘Bad Boy for Life’ rapper set the record straight. He said, “A lot of blogs took that as I had become Hip Hop’s first billionaire. That is not the case.” Diddy added that the race is still on and clarified, “It really ain’t about the money at the end of the day. It’s about the impact that you have on the world.”
Now, in 2022, the artist has become the second-wealthiest Hip Hop artist in the world surpassing the ‘Yeezy’ founder. The rapper and entrepreneur currently have a net worth of $1 billion. Along with his music, his partnership with Diageo in Cîroc, a liquor brand, yields $60 million annually. He is the major stakeholder in Revolt, a music, and politics-based channel. Diddy owns half of the stakes in DeLeón tequila.
With these assets, he has surpassed Kanye West’s wealth. After multiple brands signed off the deals with West, the last major jerk was from Adidas due to which he lost half of his wealth. Now, the rapper has a net worth of $500 million. Jay-Z holds the first position as the wealthiest Hip Hop artist. The ‘N****s in Paris’ rapper has multiple investments including Rihanna’s lingerie brand ‘Savage x Fenty’. He also has an entertainment agency, Roc Nation. With all these possessions and investments, he has a net worth of $1.5 billion.

The Degeneration Of The Artist Started With Diddy’s Instagram Exchange
Sean “Diddy” Combs was one of many people who called out Ye for his controversial fashion statement. During ‘The Breakfast Club’ podcast, the rapper condemned Kanye’s move to wear a ‘WLM’ shirt calling him a ‘fed’. On October 5th, 2022, Diddy posted a video saying, “I’ve always been there and I will always support my brother, Kanye’s a free thinker, but the ‘White Lives Matter’ T-shirt, I don’t rock with it. I’m not with it.”
He then warned people to not take the condemnation of the community lightly. “Don’t wear the shirt, don’t buy the shirt, don’t play with the shirt. It’s not a joke.” West did not take the warning in good spirits. He posted a screenshot of the conversation that happened between them.
Kanye wrote, “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death [sic] con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.” This was the beginning of the end for the ‘Gold Digger’ rapper.
