Madonna’s Older Brother Anthony Ciccone Is Dead
2023 has not been very kind to the legendary artist Madonna. Earlier, she was criticized for her face at the Golden Globes. Now a very personal and tragic loss has struck the singer.
According to a Page Six report, her eldest sibling, Anthony Ciccone, passed away on Friday at the age of 66. “Most family members had a difficult relationship with him due to his disease [with alcohol],” a source said.
“Madonna helped to support her brother when he would accept that support. During his final months, he was in contact with family and Madonna, but this past week, he refused the support the rehab facility offered, and it was clear he was ready to move on,” the source continued.
Anthony struggled with alcohol most of his life and was also homeless a couple of years ago. He was living under a bridge in Michigan for quite some time and was broke.

In 2017, he finished a program at a rehab facility and eventually rekindled his relationship with his family at home. In 2011, he talked about how his family did not care about him.
“I’m a zero in their eyes — a non-person. I’m an embarrassment. If I froze to death, my family probably wouldn’t know or care about it for six months,” he said.
“My father would be very happy if I died of hypothermia, then he wouldn’t have to worry about it any more. He’s old school, he grew up in the depression,” Anthony added. He said that he never loved Madonna. “I never loved her in the first place, she never loved me. We never loved each other,” he said.
