Mark Zuckerberg’s ‘Threads’ To Compete With Elon Musk’s Twitter
Mark Zuckerberg is launching Threads, a microblogging platform, through his Meta banner. Expected to rival Twitter, it is set for a July 6 release. The world got the first peak at Threads on Monday. Meta has already copied the paid model subscription, but it may leave Twitter behind once it gets going.
Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta also owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. This ownership will be helpful as Threads will take off from its Instagram user base. As a bonus, Instagram users who sign up get to keep their username for Threads. Analysts have predicted that Threads and Twitter will be competitive for years.
