Jennifer Lawrence plays Maddie, a cab driver who loses her car and her only source of income. On her last legs, she answers a Craigslist ad placed by a wealthy couple from Montauk, New York. The parents (Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti) ask Maddie to date their son Percy before he leaves for college in a few months. In return, Maddie gets a car and financial compensation. Desperate to save her mother’s house, she reluctantly takes on the assignment.

But Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) is an introvert and a tad feeble. Breaking his shell is the most challenging thing for Maddie. When Maddie finally gets through to Percy, she realizes this breakthrough might lead to a meaningful emotional connection for her.
