‘Batgirl’ movie was going to introduce another female character to the DC Extended Universe, which would have been a great addition to the franchise. But, in an unexpected decision, Warner Bros. Discovery decided to stop the movie’s release. The news of the studio’s decision to terminate the show made headlines and elicited passionate responses from both fans and cast members.
An unnamed member of the cast of DC Films’ ‘Batgirl‘ has spoken out over the unexpected cancelation of the project, referring to the president and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery as an “imbecile.”

There were a lot of fascinating replies to Eric Kohn’s essay on IndieWire regarding the termination of the ‘Batgirl‘ television show, and one of them came from an actor who was participating in the DC film.
The actor stated, “I am very offended by what happened and feel terrible for the directors and Leslie Grace, who were all wonderful to work with, as well as all of the technicians. It was an enormous, rewarding challenge to make this movie during Covid, and during the cold weather in Glasgow.”
The actor’s statement continued: “None of these things matter to an imbecile like [Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav]. His cowardice is breathtaking. I am glad I got to participate and I wish the best for all those involved – except the suits at Warner Brothers. But they all get replaced sooner than later.”
What Does The Future Hold For ‘Batgirl’?
The frustration expressed by the unidentified actor over the cancellation of ‘Batgirl‘ is both reasonable and warranted when one considers the amount of effort put in by the other members of the cast and crew.
Some people believe that the actor’s aggressive statements may have been motivated by his enthusiasm for the project, despite the fact that many others believe that it was inappropriate for the actor to refer to the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery as an “imbecile.”
It is logical to suppose that the nameless actor is simply one of the many people working behind the scenes who are dissatisfied with the studio’s moves. The cancelation certainly caused a domino effect that meant bad news for several of DC’s recent projects.
For instance, the president of DC Films, Walter Hamada, came dangerously close to quitting his job as a result of the cancelation of the movie, and this strong response from the top executive himself could have served as a beacon for others, such as this anonymous actor, to express their sincere opinions regarding the decision.
It would appear that there is absolutely no possibility that ‘Batgirl‘ will be made available in any way in the near future.
