What Happened To The Titan Submersible?
The Titan submersible was designed by OceanGate to offer a view of the Titanic wreckage. The vehicle went for a dive on June 18, 2023, along with five passengers on board.
However, contact with the vehicle was lost in 1 hour 45 minutes after it went down and US Coast Guard received a missing report of the submersible when it did not appear on the surface at the expected time. Search and rescue operations started the next day with authorities of various countries participating in it.
The sonar of the United States Navy detected an acoustic signature consistent with an implosion that possibly happened when the vehicle lost contact with the surface, leading to the death of all the passengers.
