The Covid-19 pandemic had a negative impact on the box office collections and the theatre business. But along with other movies, MCU also contributed a lot in bringing back the pre-pandemic atmosphere to the big screens. One of those projects was ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’, which was released in 2021.
Apart from receiving positive reviews, the film grossed more than $400 million at the box office. Although it did not emerge as a winner, the film was the recipient of a nomination in the category of Best Visual Effects at the Oscars 2022. ‘Shang-Chi 2’: Plot Details
The story of ‘Shang-Chi 2’ has been a topic of discussion for MCU fans for a long time. Marvel is not getting any direct sequels and instead, the stories are being continued following a TV show or other projects based on other characters. So there is a possibility that the ‘Shang-Chi’ sequel may not have to do anything with the first film.
One thing that MCU fans are expected to witness in the sequel is the story about Ta-Lo and everything that still remains unknown about the world of ‘Shang-Chi.’ A lot of facts about this world are still a mystery including how and from where the lead character got his powers.
Another thing that should be noted here is that the sequel could be a part of Phase Six, although it has not been confirmed yet. So this means that ‘Shang-Chi’s story might get linked to ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.’

‘Shang-Chi 2’: Cast And Release Date
‘Shang-Chi 2’ is impossible without Simu Liu and Awkwafina. So for now, it is confirmed that both of them would return to reprise their roles. Wong was also a part of the first film and the mid-credits scene has already hinted towards the possibility of his return in the sequel.
Meng’er Zhang is now the head of the Ten Rings organization which means she will have a bigger role to play in the sequel. Following the release of the first film, MCU has released a few more projects that have hinted towards the introduction of various other characters in the franchise and the producers might decide to finalize their debut in the MCU sequel.
