What if ‘Sherlock Holmes‘ archenemy was the most dangerous criminal genius and the best consultant at the same time? In a surprising turn of events, the upcoming crime procedural will take a bold step away from the established mythology and reimagine the notorious Professor James Moriarty not as a villain but as a more complex antihero.

In this series, when a rival syndicate decides to attack Moriarty’s underground empire, the criminal-genius academic makes a choice that puts him directly into law enforcement. The series will feature a criminal mastermind turned consultant who needs to utilize investigations to crush all his enemies while protecting his secret criminal activities.

It is another spin-off adaptation based on the iconic mythology of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective fiction, where Professor James Moriarty serves as the central protagonist instead of Sherlock Holmes.

According to the report, the series is going to portray Professor James Moriarty as a criminal psychologist at Durham University who secretly runs a criminal empire in Northern England.

At some point, the professor loses control over his enterprise due to the rivalry with a powerful criminal syndicate that attacks his underground operation. To protect himself, he starts collaborating with law enforcement as their consultant.

Thus, the series will bring a new spin to the Sherlock Holmes mythology because it puts the notorious professor right in the center of crime investigations, where he needs to use his skills and expertise to get rid of his rivals.
