Apparently, Sony is handling its Spider-man properties very carelessly and it is not sitting right with fans. Studio’s recent film ‘Morbius’ was a big flop as Sony tried to portray one of the antagonistic characters of the Spider-man universe as a hero and now the studio is repeating same mistake with ‘Kraven The Hunter’.
The decision to turn another grey character into a hero has made the fans very angry. One thing that make Marvel great is that they stay true to original source. On the other hand, Sony is going in an opposite direction altogether resulting in mostly negative reactions from fans.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson Shares His Opinion On Kraven The Hunter
Kraven is actually a ruthless hunter who wears a lion’s pelt in the comic book. But according to Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who is playing Kraven in the film, the titular hero is ”an animal lover and protector of the natural world.” This goes completely against the nature of someone who is shown as a great hunter in the comics.
Taylor said Kraven is “one of Marvel’s most iconic, notorious anti-heroes — Spider Man’s number one rival”. Also noted how he found it thrilling that the character is “not an alien, or a wizard. He’s just a hunter, a human with conviction.”
Ariana Debose, who will be playing Calypso in the series, previously commented on how she feels “part of something that feels like it’s taking a step in a right direction.” Taylor also mentioned that the movie was “shot entirely on location.”
Fans Are Not Happy With Sony’s Approach
Fans are not liking what Sony wants to do with Kraven. Sharing his disagreement, One person wrote on Twitter, “Do those hunters also wear furs and make a necklace of teeth as trophies in order to show how much they love and protect animals?”
Another wrote, “As the name suggests Kraven the hunter and not Kraven the animal lover that totally misses the character oh man oh man & you’re wondering why people don’t go to the movies anymore when all the characters aren’t done well, the MCU”.
