Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of HBO Max, has filed a lawsuit against Paramount Global over a licensing dispute around the popular animated sitcom ‘South Park.’
According to Variety, the studio filed a lawsuit on Friday New York state Supreme Court over reneging on some parts of their licensing deal worth $500 million which took place in 2019.
It was for the streaming rights of the animated sitcom. They noted that Paramount breached the contract and premiered their specials and other stuff on the Paramount+ platform. According to the suit, Paramount “blatantly intended to prop up Paramount+ at the expense of Warner/HBO,” and they engaged in “multiple and flagrant duplicitous contortions of fact and breaches of contract.”

People were quick to draw parallels between the episode and the royal couple who has been going all out talking about their experiences via interviews, books, and a Netflix documentary.
