2023 was the year for Taylor Swift! Bad blood was buried, her Eras Tour film received massive worldwide success, phenomenal performances marked the Eras Tour with the tickets sold out, and Swift found a charming lover in Travis Kelce.
The ‘Lover‘ singer was also named the Time’s Person of the Year making her fans and family proud. Along with Swift, the fans also witnessed Papa Swift supporting her on the bleachers and the stage. However, this equation was different 18 years ago.

Taylor Swift’s Father Was Not Happy With His Daughter’s Success
Scott Swift was undoubtedly the biggest motivator and supporter of Taylor Swift, especially during the beginning of her career. But demanding credit for his duty seems unfatherly. During the lawsuit debacle with the singer’s former manager, Daniel Dymtrow, the court got its hands-on emails sent by Taylor Swift’s father.
According to the emails obtained by The Mirror, Scott Swift was furious and expressed his anger about not getting credit for his efforts in supporting his daughter’s career. He also shared that despite spending money on the trips, he could not accompany her to places like New York. Papa Swift also added that he would do anything in his capacity to promote Taylor’s career and also involved the singer’s mother Andrea Swift, saying that she would divorce him in a jiffy over these claims.

Fans React To The Problematic Emails
Swifites could not keep their calm when these emails resurfaced. They claimed that Taylor Swift’s father was a toxic person and were furious at him. One fan noted that his remarks gave off the vibe that the Grammy singer wouldn’t be famous if it weren’t for him. Another fan also shared that Swift’s dad was frustrated because he wasn’t getting credit for Swift’s talent.
The fans were not happy with Scott Swift throwing a negative light on Andrea Swift as well. Few fans also defended Scott Swift’s behavior calling it old school and unconditional love, pointing to the fact that the e-mails were 18 years old.
so this is just him feeling sorry for himself and thinking if it wasn't for HIM taylor wouldn't be famous?!? he's throwing a hissy fit because he isn't getting credit for her talent and he paid for things! and watched his other child! you know things parents should do?!? https://t.co/Tv8WKqiFuz

his feelings may be relatable but his behavior is still unacceptable. That is often the difference that parents don't understand. That is a problem to work out with your spouse not email a music manager. And his attitudes towards his family are concerning even if relatable.
