Twitter is a platform where things go viral in a few minutes and it is a place to put something on-trend. However, the social networking platform is trending now for different reasons. Ever since Elon Musk joined Twitter, it has been on top of the headlines after being criticized for different reasons.
The platform is being criticized again after users were frustrated while signing in to view tweets. Netizens have been already reacting to it on the platform.
Twitter Becomes Inaccessible For Unverified Users
Twitter used to have a facility where users could read the tweets if they were not logged in. However, users are frustrated now after they are asked to sign up or log in before reading a tweet.
Meanwhile, Musk has called it a temporary change measure. He stated that the data of the platform was being scraped leading to some problems among the users. He wrote that they were getting data pillaged to such an extent that it affected the service for normal users.
Musk posted another tweet where he wrote: “Several hundred organizations (maybe more) were scraping Twitter data extremely aggressively, to the point where it was affecting the real user experience.”

How Will The New Move Affect The Functioning Of Twitter?
The new move made by Elon Musk has blocked the unrestricted access of the users and has barred the tweets from appearing in chat apps where they are embedded. Musk responded by saying that things will get back to normal and it was only the data scraping that forced them to take this step.
The move could lead to problems for scrapers including ChatGPT’s web browser plugin to take the data of the platform. Musk has already expressed his dissatisfaction with the AI firms, including Open AI, for using Twitter data to offer training for large language models.
