Shia LaBeouf Opens Up About Getting Fired From ‘Don’t Worry Darling’
The talk of the town, Olivia Wilde directorial ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ initially had Shia LaBeouf as the titular character. However, the director fired him to keep Florence Pugh safe. She also added that the actor showed hostility towards others and was ‘combative’. In a recent interview with Variety, she reveals that she does not take in “bad a** behaviour.” Thus, fired him to keep her cast and crew safe.
The controversial actor has now broken his silence on the issue and told Variety that he was not fired by Olivia. He said that he quit working on the film because there was no adequate time to rehearse. He sent multiple screenshots of the mail he had sent to Wilde on August 2020, stating that there was no time for him to rehearse with others.
Additionally, he also sent a video wherein Wilde can be seen talking while she was driving. Wilde says, “I feel like I’m not ready to give up on this yet, and I too am heartbroken and I want to figure this out,” in the video. Later, Wilde comments that she would talk it out with “Miss Flo” and resume the project. However, it is now clear that LaBeouf has not gotten back on the project that was initially intended for him to play.

What Is The Reaction Of Olivia Wilde To LaBeouf’s Breaking Statement?
Olivia Wilde’s statement to Variety, when Shia LaBeouf was accused by FKA Twigs, is opposite to what LaBeouf has recently claimed. She stated, “A lot came to light after this happened that really troubled me in terms of his behaviour … I knew that I was going to be asking [Pugh] to be in very vulnerable situations, and my priority was making her feel safe and making her feel supported.”
LaBeouf has sent a mail responding to the false statement by Wilde. The mail reads, “I am a little confused about the narrative that I was fired, however. You and I both know the reasons for my exit. I quit your film because your actors & I couldn’t find time to rehearse.”
He further added, “Firing me never took place … It is not the truth. So I am humbly asking, as a person with an eye toward making things right, that you correct the narrative as best you can.” Variety has contacted Wilde regarding this issue.
