The Case Against Elon Musk’s Twitter Acquisition

Life hasn’t been easy for Elon Musk after Twitter acquisition

In November 2022, Elon Musk bought Twitter for a whopping price of $44 billion. What attracted the tech billionaire to the microblogging platform was its democratic platform for all voices in the community. He promised it would remain the same stronghold of democratic opinion. But one can argue things have become much worse. Since taking over, Elon Musk fired 200 staff workers. Moreover, Twitter’s value has plummeted to $20 billion.

Two of his high-level executives, Ella Irwin and A.J. Brown, left recently over the difference of opinions regarding content moderation. Musk got in trouble by sharing an anti-trans documentary ‘What Is A Woman?’. His support of former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has added to the list of reasons people have started losing faith in Twitter. Once a beloved platform, Twitter is slowly becoming the hotbed for right-wing content.
