Karl Urban is one of the most popular names in Hollywood to come out of New Zealand. The Kiwi actor has acted in several popular films and shows like ‘Dredd‘, ‘Lord of the Rings‘ and Marvel’s ‘Thor: Ragnarok‘, etc. He has been in the industry for almost three decades.
But the 50-year-old actor rose to prominence for his portrayal of the hot-headed protagonist Billy Butcher in Amazon Prime’s ‘The Boys.’ Karl recently talked about some of his most iconic characters. He also talked about the shooting experience of the ‘Herogasm‘ episode from the superhero show.

Karl Urban Shares The Experience Of Filming Herogasm Episode
Karl Urban gave a video interview to the GQ Magazine where he talked about some of the iconic characters of his career. The first one was obviously Billy Butcher from ‘The Boys.’
The ‘Dredd‘ actor talked about his experience of shooting ‘Herogasm‘, one of the most popular episodes of the third season. He said, “Butcher really comes in at the end of it. So I didn’t get the full brunt of the herogasm experience.”
Urban talks about the story Jensen Ackles (who plays Soldier Boy) told him about walking on the set. The cameraman told Jensen, “Dude, I have seen some shit.”
Karl said, “I really felt for the crew ’cause they really got put through it on that one.” He described how the ADs were interacting with the extras. “I mean, it was just like, what are we shooting here?”
Karl Urban Shares Updates On Filming ‘The Boys’ Season 4
The third season of ‘The Boys‘ was well received and fans cannot wait for another season. There have been reports that the principal photography for season four will start soon. Karl has suggested that it will begin in a matter of weeks.
“We’re starting I think August the 22nd, we’re going to be starting season four,” Urban said in a recent interview. “So I’m getting back, getting my Butcher back on, and I can’t wait.”
He further added, “It’s a fun gang to play with, we work hard and play hard, and I can’t wait to see where they take the characters from where we leave them at the end of this season.”
Created by Eric Kripke, ‘The Boys‘ premiered in 2019 and has had a successful three seasons. The main reason people enjoy it is because it’s unlike any other superhero show.
