Kevin Spacey was once one of the most popular and loved actors in the industry. Known for his versatility, Spacey played all kinds of roles across genres. However, his career and reputation took a nosedive after multiple people accused him of sexual assault during the #metoo movement.
On Monday, the Academy Award winner testified in the New York trial. Anthony Rapp has sued him for millions of dollars in damages and claimed that the ‘Seven‘ actor tried to sexually assault him when he was a minor. Let’s find out what Kevin said in the trial.

Kevin Spacey Testifies In The New York Trial
The ‘American Beauty‘ actor was accused of inappropriate behavior and sexual molestation by several people including Anthony Rapp in 2017, during the #metoo movement. He testified in a New York courtroom Monday that he never made a sexual pass at Rapp.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor also denied Rapp’s claims he picked Rapp up after a 1986 party at his Manhattan apartment and put him on his bed before lying on top of him.
Rapp was only 14 at that time, while Spacey was 26. In a civil trial earlier, Rapp had accused Spacey of assault and battery that ran out from underneath an intoxicated Spacey in the encounter.
“They told me I couldn’t push back on the story,” Spacey said in the trial. “I knew I wouldn’t have any sexual interest in Anthony Rapp or any child. That I knew.” He continued, “The industry was very nervous. There was a lot of fear in the air about who was going to be next. I was shocked. I was frightened and I was confused. I knew I had never been alone with Anthony Rapp.”
He Talked About Coming Out Right After The Allegations
Right after the allegations surfaced, Spacey quickly came out as gay and he was accused of using homosexuality to shift focus from sexual abuse.
“I grew up in a very complicated family dynamic,” he said. “My father was a white supremacist and neo-Nazi. It meant that my siblings and I were forced to listen to hours and hours of my father lecturing us about his beliefs.”
Spacey said his father “used to yell at me at the idea that I might be gay.” Before the testimony, Spacey said he had “never talked about these things publicly, ever.”
“It was really wrong and it was really bad and I’m deeply sorry,” he said talking about the timing of his coming out as gay.
