Elon Musk Is Critical Of WhatsApp
Elon Musk shared a tweet following the reports claiming that Facebook has been listening to its users. Musk stated that WhatsApp is not trustworthy as a response to an individual named Foad Dabiri, who posted that WhatsApp was getting access to the microphones of phones while people were sleeping.
WhatsApp replied to Dabiri by saying that the problem was an Android issue, but the same problem has been reported by several others. WhatsApp clarified further by stating that users have control over the mic settings, and they access the mic when a user calls someone or while recording voice or video. Elon Musk has been trying to slam Meta as much as possible, and the claims of WhatsApp listening to the users have helped him a lot in the same.
Gannon Breslin replied to Musk’s tweet and wrote: “It’s incredible how many people don’t realise that WhatsApp is owned by Meta or Facebook.” Musk also responded by writing, “Yeah. Or that WhatsApp founders left Meta and Facebook in disgust, started the #deletefacebook campaign, and made major contributions to building Signal.”
