‘One Piece’ is among the most well-known shounen animes ever produced. There is no denying that it belongs in the anime hall of fame, despite there being disagreements on whether it is the best. Additionally, it has one of the longest runs of any anime to date.
Due to it being extremely long, Oda Eiichiro has a lot of creative freedom with the story. There was a time skip feature in the anime that lasted for two years. The straw hats divided and met up again after two years. Let’s find out when the time skip took place and what Luffy and the straw hats did in the two years.
When Did The ‘One Piece’ Time Skip Take Place?
The ‘One Piece’ time skip is a major section of the anime where Luffy’s adventures start to take on a different tone. As each member of the Straw Hat crew trained for two years, they all became stronger. Episode 517 of One Piece contains the time jump.
At the conclusion of episode 516, the time jump starts. This signifies the conclusion of season 8 on Hulu. The Straw Hat Pirates’ helmsman, Jinbe, informs Luffy in the episode that they will separate ways and meet again at Fish-Man Island in two years.
What Did Luffy And The Straw Hats Crew Do In The Two Years?
Luffy begins training with Silvers Rayleigh, the first mate of the pirate king. At the deserted island of Rusukaina, Rayleigh starts training Luffy. The three diverse varieties of Haki, which may be used to channel a person’s spiritual force for various purposes, are revealed to Luffy.
The straw hats get into a number of altercations, including one with a group posing as The Straw Hats. Zoro begins training with Dracule Mihawk, the strongest swordsman in the world.
Straw hat member Usopp stays on the Boin archipelago at the beginning of the time skip. He gets sidetracked by the food there, but then gets stronger by working on his shooting abilities. Chopper, another member, studies medicine during that time and Nico joins the military organization.
Franky studies the blueprints made by Dr. Vegapunk to work on his engineering skills. Brook has the most exciting break as he becomes a rock star and tours the world.
This is what the members of the straw hats and Luffy did during the two-year time skip in ‘One Piece‘. They met after two years before meeting at Fish man Island. Despite the two-year break, the star hat members greet each other normally and interact with each other in the same manner they used to prior to the time skip.
