George R. R. Martin needs no introduction. The masterpiece ‘Game Of Thrones’ that stands as one of the most popular series across the world was the unique outcome of his book series ‘A Song Of Ice and Fire’. But as of now, it’s been quite long since fans have been eagerly waiting for the sixth book of the series. But it doesn’t seem like the author himself is much bothered about it.
Martin has been pretty busy with all his interviews and appearances for ‘Game Of Thrones’ prequel series ‘House of the Dragon,’ which has its grand premiere set for August 21 on HBO. But do the fans really want George to be busy with all the promotions? Probably not! They want the next part of the book series to be out. A bunch of fans has called out the author for his lack of commitment to the books.

When Will George R. R. Martin Finish His Books?
The anticipation for George R. R. Martin’s ‘The Winds of Winter’ which is the sixth book of the series, has been blowing cold and long in the hearts of the fans. Since 2011’s ‘A Dance with Dragons’ hit the shelves, it’s been almost 10 years that no sequel has come out. There’s still no clue when the next part will release. Fans are no doubt tired of waiting following a bunch of back-to-back delays in publishing ‘The Winds Of Winter’. Not just tired, but they are actually really upset with Martin.
On the other hand, Martin seems to be taking finishing the chapters lightly and has packed his schedule with interviews for ‘House Of Dragon’. The prequel’s first trailer dropped and went viral in no time. But somehow, the readers of Martin’s books are not really liking his involvement in the industry so much that he is not getting any time to do his prior work as an author.
According to a March 2022 blog post, Martin claimed that “of course” he’s still working on his book and complained about the “wearisome” fact that people have the nerve to keep asking him about it. He wrote, “Yes, of course, I am still working on THE WINDS OF WINTER. I have stated that a hundred times in a hundred venues, having to restate it endlessly is just wearisome. I made a lot of progress on WINDS in 2020, and less in 2021… but ‘less’ is not ‘none.'”
Fans Are Enraged About Martin’s Easygoing Outlook
The fans and the readers are quite upset with the author after back-to-back delays and a lack of information and confirmation regarding the next book. Well, they took to social media to share their opinions about the whole thing. Some are claiming that George R. R. Martin got pretty busy making money with screen adaptations and lost his interest in writing books, while some are in doubt whether Martin at all will be able to finish the book.
