Wade Wilson was not an ordinary criminal. He was a known member of the ‘Unforgiven,’ a violent white supremacist prison organization, and had scary tattoos on his face, including swastikas. His criminal record was extensive, including past convictions for which he was on probation at the time of the murder.

Wilson’s actions were driven by a desire to kill. On October 7, 2019, he met Kristine Melton, a vibrant 35-year-old woman with dreams and plans, at a bar and later strangled her to death in her own home. As if that weren’t horrifying enough, he then stole her car and phone, using them to orchestrate more violence. Not long after, Wilson encountered Diane Ruiz, a loving mother engaged to be married, who was simply trying to help him with directions. He lured her into the stolen car, attacked her, and then ran her over, leaving her body in a field.

Kristine and Diane’s lives were cut short by a man who seemed to view them as mere obstacles in his path of destruction. Kristine was found in her home, while Diane’s body was discovered in a remote area, abandoned alongside the stolen car. The thought of these women spending their final moments in such terror is heartbreaking. It left their families and the community searching for answers and justice.

The trial revealed a chilling lack of remorse from Wilson. Wilson’s actions were described as “killing for the sake of killing” during his trial. This callousness only added to the anger and pain felt by the victims’ families and the community.

Wade Wilson was found guilty of two charges of first-degree murder by a jury in June 2024. Despite the defense’s arguments that Wilson’s actions were driven by mental illness and drug addiction, the jury gave death punishment.

Yet, even as Wilson awaits his fate, an unsettling phenomenon has emerged online. Despite his heinous crimes, some women on the internet have begun romanticizing him, drawn to his tattoos and rugged looks. This bizarre fascination highlights a disturbing trend where individuals overlook violent behavior in favor of superficial attributes.

The verdict gave some relief to Kristine and Diane’s families, but the wounds of their loss remained deep. Wade Wilson’s case serves as a harsh warning of the dangers of needless violence in our culture.
