Recently, an online ad suggested that actor Jim Carrey had died. It soon became viral and broke the hearts of millions of fans. But, the main point is the actor is very much alive and the whole thing was a hoax. Fans are not okay with this and are letting their opinions known over this on social media.
Whenever the internet gets bored of trolls, they shift to fake news which end up going viral. Celebrity death hoaxes especially spread like wildfire. In the past, Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, Dwayne Johnson, Russell Crowe, and others have been victims of such fake news.

Jim Carrey: New Victim Of Fake News
Few ads surfaced on YouTube suggesting that the famous actor and comedian Jim Carrey was dead. But that’s so not true. He is very much alive. There are no credible reports of the renowned actor passing away and it’s definitely someone trying to grab attention.
Sadly this isn’t the first time that such news spread. First, in October 2021, rumors circulated online that suggested that singer and actress Jennifer Lopez died in a car accident. It was completely false and baseless. But it does stop there. Again, this past January, rumors surfaced that suggested actor Adam Sandler had died by drowning. This is completely unacceptable. These types of news should be reported instead of being shared mindlessly.
Jim Carrey’s Fans Are Angry
Fans are definitely not happy and they are expressing their anger on Twitter. One user tweeted, “Wtf woke up checked my phone and YouTube is showing me fake news that Jim Carrey is f—ing dead … wtf??? Why am I waking up to this bulls—t [on] YouTube?” Another person tweeted, “Why does @YouTubeAllow False Advertisements on their platform?!… Another false report of @JimCarreyBeing dead on #YouTube & internet….
