Once a dancer gets used to the spotlights on stage, it is very difficult to leave the space all of a sudden. This is what happened to Selma Blair as she would be making her exit from the Disney+ reality series ‘Dancing With the Stars‘. Times have been difficult for the actress, which has led her to make such a haste decision.
The actress had given her soul to dancing. “It just felt so real and right once I could kind of settle into the music,” Selma told on ‘Good Morning America‘. “It was just symbolic and let me step out of that comfort zone security into this one and have some fluidity in my movement,” she added. And now Selma has to step down from the stage and protect herself.

Selma Blair: “A True Artist”
The 50-year-old had always been excited about dancing. She said that it had burst open her heart. Prior to the reality show, the actress had been feeling good and was ready to compete in the 31st season of the dance competition. She had been excited about the opportunity that she received to learn and grow. Her dance partner Sasha Farber spoke on how Selma had put her “energy and heart” into dancing.
Blair has battled multiple sclerosis since 2018. It is a chronic disorder in which cells from the immune system attack the central nervous system. The disease and the recovery process had definitely turned around the actor’s life. Though she had been back to health lately, now it seems like her “body is definitely taking a hit“.”It’s way too much for the safety of my bones… so I could do extensive damage,” Selma added. “I had these MRIs and the results came back and it all adds up to — I can’t, I can’t go on with the competition,” Selma had said about the MRI reports she received to Farber during the rehearsals.

Blair debuted in ‘Dancing With The Stars‘ with a powerful performance with her partner Farber. The actress mesmerized the audience as she stepped away from her cane and danced the Viennese waltz to David Cook’s The Time of My Life. Her performance left the ballroom in tears.
On Monday, October 17, Selma had her final performance to the tunes of What the World Needs Now Is Love. The dazzling pair earned a full score for their last spin on the floor. “To see the audience react to each and every one of us and our efforts, it’s so heartening and I wish I could stay and learn,” Blair said after her last performance. “I’m so proud of everyone and this audience for seeing us.“
