On September 8, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II, the British monarch died. The news shattered all around the globe equally. The revered queen had a peaceful death at her Scottish estate in Balmoral. The entire world sent their condolences to the royal family. Many royal members also released their statements regarding her death. The Duke Of York and the Queen’s son, Prince Andrew released his heartfelt statement yesterday.
The funeral procession of the Queen was held at Westminster Abbey today. Many notable figures including Joe Biden were present for the final adieu. Along with the royal family members and non-members like Prince Harry, his wife Meghan Markle, and Queen’s son, Prince Andrew marked their presence. As a tradition, the royal family members wear military uniforms along with their medals, but Prince Andrew and Prince Harry aren’t allowed to do so. But why?

Disgraced Prince Andrew Barred From Wearing Military Uniform
In 2022, The Duke Of York was stripped of his royal duties and titles due to his explosive BBC interview over the sexual assault and battery charges. One of the reasons was also that he was closely associated with the pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Virginia Giuffre, the abuse victim filed a civil case in 2021 against Prince Andrew for sexual abuse and battery under Child Victim’s Act. His association with the billionaire hedge fund manager, Jeffrey Epstein via Ghislaine Maxwell also scarred his reputation resulting in him being defunct from royal duties.
Now, at Queen’s funeral, Prince Andrew wore a morning uniform. The Duke Of York donned his medals instead. It includes Silver, Golden Diamond and Platinum Jubilee medals, Royal Navy Long Service medals with bars. He was awarded South Atlantic Medal for his role as a helicopter pilot in Falklands War. Along with it, he also wore a Canadian Forces Decoration bar and a New Zealand Commemoration medal awarded to him in 1990.

The Duke Of York’s Statement About The Queen’s Death
Prince Andrew released a statement since the death of his mother and late monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. In his statement, he started with an official note extending gratitude.
He said, “Dear Mummy, Mother, Your Majesty, three in one,” his statement began. “Your Majesty, it has been an honor and privilege to serve you. Mother – of the nation, your devotion and personal service to our nation is unique and singular; your people show their love and respect in so many different ways and I know you are looking on honoring their respect.”
He then extended the statement to a personal note. The Prince said, “I have found your knowledge and wisdom invite, with no boundary or containment. I will miss your insights, advice and humor. As our book of experiences closes, another opens, and I will forever hold you close to my heart with my deepest love and gratitude, and I will tread gladly into the next with you as my guide.” The Duke ended his statement with “God save The King” referring to his brother King Charles.
