Possibilities Of Donald Trump Running For US President In 2024
Donald Trump can campaign for another term in the White House despite that he has been charged with illegally retaining classified.
Trump had already accepted the blame for the 37 federal felony counts linked to the mishandling of classified documents at a court in Miami, Florida. This is the first time federal charges have been imposed against Trump and the second criminal case against the former president, who will be running for the 2024 presidential election.
Trump was presented at the court to face trial for the 34 charges of falsifying business records in April when he surrendered to authorities in New York.
Trump was found guilty in a civil case filed by columnist E Jean Carroll in May 2023, claiming that she was raped and defamed by him. The charges were denied by Trump and he was instead charged with sexual abuse following which he was told to pay $5 million to Carroll. This has led to questions if he can take over the White House in 2024 and according to experts, it is possible.
Trump can freely campaign and none of the charges can stop him from taking office if he is convicted.
Trump can still contest the elections despite being indicted or convicted and this was also confirmed by the law professor of the University of California, Los Angeles, Richard Hasen. The only requirement for a candidate according to the Constitution is that he or she should be 35 years old and a US resident for 14 years.

The Cases Against Donald Trump
Donald Trump was indicted on 34 felony counts for falsifying business records in March 2023 by a New York grand jury. He surrendered the following month and after being arrested, he denied the charges and was released. The hearing is scheduled on December 4, 2023, and Trump can file motions by August 8 this year.
Trump was indicted by the Justice Department on June 8, 2023, for different charges. The charges included wilfully retaining national defense information under the Espionage Act, making false statements, conspiracy to obstruct justice, withholding government documents, concealing records with corrupt methods, concealing documents in a federal investigation, and schemes to hide the efforts. Judge Aileen M. Cannon presided over the case.
