As the Presidential elections approach, the competition is getting spiced up and Hollywood is not shying away from chiming in. The presidential debate that concluded last week was a disaster, to say the least, with both prime candidates — Joe Biden and Donald Trump — performing horribly.
While the scrutiny for both of them is rife with many worried about the future of America, Jon Stewart has some advice for the Democratic Party — to take a cue from reality TV ‘The Bachelor‘ and start courting new presidential candidates. Here’s what Stewart said about the elections.
Jon Stewart Suggests A ‘The Bachelor’ Approach For The Democratic Party
Following Joe Biden’s recent debate performance that has many asking him to bow out of the race, Jon Stewart has a rather comedic advice for the Democratic party. Addressing concerns about Biden’s capability to handle another term, the host of ‘The Daily Show‘ didn’t mince words.
“Absolutely legitimate concerns about the president’s ability to do the most vigorous job in the world for the next four years,” Stewart said on Monday’s episode, directing his critique at Democrats who claim it’s too late to nominate a new candidate before the November election.
“Four months is for-f—ing-ever,” Stewart said, pointing out that Britain held an election in two months, and France managed two in one month while also fitting in some international romance. “There are contestants on The Bachelor, who haven’t even met yet, that will get married and divorced between now and the election. We have nothing but time,” he added.
However, Stewart also clarified that he isn’t suggesting Biden should step aside entirely. He asserted that he is instead suggesting the party to explore other options. “I am in no way saying Biden’s gotta drop out, but can’t we stress test this candidacy? Can’t we open up the conversation?” he asked.

Jon Stewart Has Quite A Few Ideas To Secure The Future Of America Ahead Of The Presidential Election
Jon Stewart also highlighted the public’s yearning for genuine leadership, especially given the widespread concerns for the future of America after the presidential debate. “Do you understand the opportunity here? Do you have any idea how thirsty Americans are for any hint of inspiration or leadership and a release from this choice of a megalomaniac and a suffocating gerontocracy? It is crushing our f—ing spirits,” he said.
Stewart then pitched a novel idea: a showdown among potential Democratic candidates in Chicago over six weeks. “On Tuesday, the winner could move on to the next round and then face Biden,” he said. He even planned out a midweek bus tour to find the restaurant from ‘The Bear’. The result of this he imagined would be a unified party emerging on Thursday.
“You could televise the entire proceeding for four days. You could call it, oh, I don’t know, The Apprentice. I’m just workshopping here,” he said.
