Ron DeSantis will take center stage on Twitter Spaces with Elon Musk to commence his presidential campaign. DeSantis Has Perpetuated Hate Politics Which Will Affect His Chances
As per NBC, Ron DeSantis will start campaigning in early-voting states next week, starting from his hometown, Dunedin. He had an early start in these states by warming up to the formal campaigning for the presidential candidacy. There has been a substantial buzz around his entry into the race amid the large pool of Republican nominations. But, in the primaries, he has been next to Donald Trump in terms of popularity.
Ron DeSantis can utilize the opportunity to use Twitter for campaigning as Donald Trump is off the platform. Trump’s account was suspended, keeping in mind the aftermath of the Capitol Hill episode. Though Elon Musk reinstated his account, Trump has switched to Truth Social, his Twitter-like social media space. Trump’s run for the presidency can be affected by the legal cloud hovering over his career.
However, Ron DeSantis has also passed some legislation in his home state that may hamper his popularity in the presidential race. He is on a mission to take down wokeness by signing many controversial bills about abortion rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, and gun rights. His long and ongoing feud with Disney may become a hurdle to gaining people’s consensus.
