Despite ‘The Acolyte’ being a huge disappointment among ‘Star Wars‘ fans the sudden cancellation of the show was a shock. One of those affected by the unexpected news is Lee Jung-Jae, the Emmy-winning actor who portrayed Master Sol in the series.
Additionally, Lee’s comments highlight the talent and creativity behind the show. Despite not being a fan favorite the show promised a lot of things and had a lot of potential.

Lee Jung-Jae Believed In The Director’s Vision For ‘The Acolyte’
In a recent interview with EW, Lee shared his personal disappointment over the cancellation. While the show wasn’t a hit among fans Lee thought differently. Additionally, he expressed his admiration for showrunner Leslye Headland’s talent and the show’s potential for future seasons.
Despite his character’s demise in the first season, Lee was eager to see the director’s vision play out. “I really loved Leslye’s writing. I thought that she was a great writer and director who was very talented in the storytelling, as well as creating characters and creating meaningful structures within the story,” he stated.
Additionally, he clarified that he wanted to see how Headland would continue to develop the story and the characters. “So I was actually personally really looking forward to watching a season 2 with her at the helm,” he added. As soon as it was released, the show was bombarded with disappointed fans. However, the cancellation was still disappointing given the show’s groundbreaking nature and the things it promised.

Lee Jung-Jae Holds Onto Hope For The Show’s Future
Despite the shocking cancellation, Lee Jung-jae remains optimistic about the show’s future. Drawing inspiration from the iconic ‘Star Wars‘ mantra, “Never tell him the odds,” Lee expressed hope that circumstances might change and allow for the continuation of the series. “Honestly, I am hoping that maybe there could be changes in the future,” he claimed.
A lot of other fans also hope for the show to get renewed and redeem itself. Moreover, as fans and Lee continue to mourn the loss of the show, they can only hope that Disney will reconsider its decision and give ‘The Acolyte’ a chance to continue its story. However, it might be highly unlikely as Disney is allegedly trying to make the show “disappear.”
