Twitter has been going through a major transformation since Elon Musk has taken over the platform. The $44 billion deal itself was chaotic due to the legal rumbles that surrounded it. However, the troubles reverberated when the deal was completed. There has to be a lot of changes to be made on the microblogging site, but when he became the new CEO, the finances started plummeting. The advertisers started pulling the plug on advertising on Twitter which has been a major source of revenue for Twitter.
To recover the dwindling revenue, Elon Musk employed an $8 monthly subscription. After a failed first attempt, he reintroduced it in a structured manner. There have been many similar changes in Twitter’s policies, UI, and structure. Nevertheless, these changes have not been coming to fruition as envisioned by Elon Musk. The rigorous deadlines, impractical solutions, and constant layoffs have put him in very tricky terrain. There have been millions of unpaid bills laying around due to financial catastrophe. There were rumors that he shut down Slack for the very same reason, but the billionaire has now restored it.

One employee said, “We didn’t pay our Slack bill. Now everyone is barely working. Penny wise, pound foolish”. Another employee called it the “proverbial final straw”.
