Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s relationship with the Royals have been deteriorating since they stepped down from their royal duties in 2020. Recently, it was announced that Markle and her two children will not be attending King Charles’ coronation ceremony. The Duke of Sussex will go solo to attend the event in London. Some media reports have suggested that the royals are actually “delighted” by this piece of news.

Some Royals Are Happy Over Meghan Markle Skipping The Coronation Ceremony
In an interview with Page Six, BBC reporter Tom Bower said: “I think everyone’s delighted she’s not coming.” He was talking about Meghan Markle who will be staying in California with her children on May 6.
“They made sure that she wasn’t going to come by making sure that she was told she’d have to curtsy three times, that she wouldn’t be in the spotlight, that she wouldn’t play any part in the whole thing and that if she came, they’d be put in row 54 in the back behind the column,” he joked.
It has been speculated that the Duchess of Sussex decided to skip the event as her children were not invited. The coronation day is also coinciding with the 4th birthday of her son Prince Archie.

King Charles Reacts To Meghan Skipping The Event
Earlier this month, the announcement of Prince Harry going to the coronation event put an end to months-long speculations. A source close to King Charles revealed how he reacted to this news.
“The king is happy that Harry, his son, who he calls his ‘darling boy,’ will be at the Abbey. He wanted him there,” the source said. He also reacted to Markle choosing to skip the event.
“It is sad, he is very disappointed that he won’t see Meghan or his grandchildren but understands the situation.” they said. Earlier, it was reported that Harry and Charles had peace talks before the former decided to attend the event.
