Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of spinning exaggerated narratives in interviews, docuseries, and a memoir. Recently, as per the admission of their security personnel, the couple and her mother got involved in a ‘near catastrophic’ car crash after attending an event in New York. He alleged that paparazzi were chasing them for a picture, jeopardizing the pedestrians’ lives.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would have met the fate of the former’s mother, Princess Diana. She died in an unfortunate car crash in Paris in 1997. Before the accident, paparazzi were chasing her to get a picture of her with Diana’s then-boyfriend, Dodi Fayed. But Princess Diana is connected to the car crash in another way as well.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Wanted To Stay At Princess Diana’s Favorite Hotel
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended an honorary event at Ziegfeld Ballroom, where the Duchess of Sussex received the Women of Vision Award. Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, also attended the event.
When they left the event, paparazzi started chasing their car on New York’s streets. As per their narrative, the car chase was “chaotic” and could have led to “fatalities,” but it did not lead to what happened to Princess Diana, as the episode was eerily similar to hers.
Now, as per sources, another detail relates to the late Princess Diana. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle requested to stay at the Carlyle, Diana’s favorite hotel in New York City. However, the hotel denied their request to book accommodations at a discounted rate.
Due to this, the couple decided to stay at their friend’s house on the Upper East Side. When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were chased, they tried to avoid a ruckus happening at their friend’s place. So, they opted to catch a taxi at 67th Street, between Lexington Avenue and 3rd Avenue.

The Couple Asked The Paparazzi Video Of The Car Chase
After the alleged fatal car chase, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are asking for footage of the “near-catastrophic” car chase in New York. As per TMZ, the couple wants the footage to improve their security.
Markle and Harry’s lawyer sent a letter to the agency, Backgrid, writing, “We hereby demand that Backgrid immediately provide us with copies of all photos, videos, and/or films taken last night by the freelance photographers after the couple left their event and over the next several hours.”
In return, Backgrid’s lawyers sent a letter to them. In the letter, they took a dig at the couple’s royal privilege, writing, “In America, as I’m sure you know, property belongs to the owner of it: Third parties cannot just demand it be given to them, as perhaps Kings can do.”
The letter continued, “Perhaps you should sit down with your client and advise them that his English rules of royal prerogative to demand that the citizenry hand over their property to the Crown were rejected by this country long ago. We stand by our founding fathers.”
