How Will Prince William And Kate Middleton Celebrate Easter Sunday?

Easter Sunday, like other Christians around the world, is an important holiday for the Royal Family. It is one day filled with hope, togetherness, and other fun activities. The holiday will be different for the family in 2023 due to the sad demise of the late monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. The queen missed the celebration in 2022 due to poor health. But in 2023, Prince William and Kate Middleton will play an important role during the holiday.

The festivities will be filled with many firsts for members of the family. King Charles III and Queen Camilla Consort will be present during the festival in their capacities as king and queen. Like them, William and Kate will also be present as the Prince and Princess of Wales. In 2023, Kate Middleton will be in charge of the celebratory duties after Elizabeth’s demise. Like every year, the couple will visit St. George’s Chapel and arrange egg hunt competitions for the children.

Kensington Palace has confirmed to People magazine that Kate Middleton and Prince William will be spearheading Easter Sunday this year. It has been a tumultuous year for the Royal Family with Queen Elizabeth II’s death and Prince Harry’s royal exposé in ‘Spare.’ So, the ceremony this year will have the looming cloud of the queen’s absence. Kate will be responsible for the Church Service at St. George’s Chapel.

As per the royal expert, Ingrid Seward, Kate Middleton will be arranging the family get-together at Windsor Castle. Middleton has planned for a family reunion. The list includes Queen Camilla, King Charles III, “the Chattos and children, Princess Anne and Tim Laurence, Zara, and Mike Tindall and their children, Peter Phillips and his two girls, Sophie and Edward and their two children, Beatrice and Eugenie with their husbands and children.”

Seward commended Kate for her organizational skills and revealed the plans for kid-friendly activities for the children. He said, “Kate is a great organizer and will almost certainly organize an Easter egg hunt. They can also go to the royal mews and see the horses there and there is an indoor pool for swimming and ponies for them to ride.” Easter Court will take place at Windsor Castle, where the family will have their meals and exchange gifts.

The ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey.

As of Easter Sunday, King Charles III will carry forward Queen Elizabeth II’s Maundy Thursday tradition. Every year, on the Thursday before Easter Sunday, in York Minster, the monarch presents two bags to the recipient. This year will mark Charles’ first Maundy Thursday Service.

During the service, “His Majesty will present 74 men and 74 women (signifying the age of the monarch) with the Maundy Money to thank them for their outstanding Christian service and for making a difference to the lives of people in their local communities.”
