Prince Harry has failed to attain the privacy and life that he envisioned in the US. Currently, he is involved in lawsuits concerning privacy. One is the Heritage Foundation lawsuit that they filed after the Department of Home Security declined to provide Harry’s visa application for public scrutiny due to his drug confessions. He is currently testifying in court for the Mirror Group Newspapers Limited lawsuit about the phone hacking.
Along with 100 other claimants, Prince Harry is also suing the Mirror Group Newspapers for illegally obtaining private information about the claimants. They are accusing them of conducting unlawful activities between 1991 and 2011. As per their claims, they recruited private investigators and journalists and conducted “industrial-scale” phone hacking. Among other things, Harry has also released an official statement regarding the media’s obsession with proving that James Hewitt is his real father.
Prince Harry Admitted That The James Hewitt Stories Were Very Damaging For Him
Another royal family drama is out in the open for the public’s scrutiny! This time it is related to the media’s favorite prey for clout, Princess Diana. Diana led a very turbulent life, both in public and private. The former Princess of Wales’ personal life was a favorite topic for the media in the early 1990s. But one of the biggest scandals was her affair with James Hewitt while she was married to King Charles III.
James Hewitt is a military man turned chef. James’ affair is in the spotlight again during Prince Harry’s lawsuit against Mirror Group Newspapers Limited. Prince Harry has criticized the conglomerate’s publications for spreading false rumors about James Hewitt being his father.
Prince Harry referred to the People‘s article in 2002 titled ‘Plot to rob the DNA of Harry.’ He wrote, “At the time, when I was 18 years old and had lost my mother just six years earlier, stories such as this felt very damaging and very real to me.” Harry continued, “They were hurtful, mean, and cruel. I was always left questioning the motives behind the stories. Were the newspapers keen to put doubt into the minds of the public so that I might be ousted from the Royal Family?”

The Major Met Princess Diana Only After The Ex-Royal’s Birth
The media did falsely peddle the rumor about James Hewitt being Prince Harry’s father. The Duke of Sussex was born on September 15, 1984. But Princess Diana did not meet Hewitt until 1986. They met for the first time at Diana’s party in 1986, two years after Prince Harry was born. The reports were swirling only due to certain similar external traits like skin color and hair color.
Prince Harry added, “At the time of this article and others similar to it, I wasn’t actually aware that my mother hadn’t met Major Hewitt until after I was born. The timeline is something I only learned of in around 2014, although I now understand this was common knowledge amongst the Defendants’ journalists.”
He blamed King Charles III for making fantastical stories by telling that he may not be Harry’s father in ‘Spare.’ Harry wrote, “Pa liked telling stories, and this was one of the best in his repertoire. He’d always end with a burst of philosophizing … Who knows if I’m really the Prince of Wales? Who knows if I’m even your real father?”
Prince Harry continued, “He’d laugh and laugh, though it was a remarkably unfunny joke, given the rumor circulating just then that my actual father was one of Mummy’s former lovers: Major James Hewitt. One cause of this rumor was Major Hewitt’s flaming ginger hair, but another cause was sadism.”
