The rift between Prince Harry and King Charles III is not seeming to lessen anytime soon! It all started after Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their royal duties in 2020. Since then, the couple has been in the spotlight, capitalizing on their stories of struggles while being with the royal family. They have tainted the image of the family by releasing an explosive docuseries titled ‘Harry & Meghan’ and Harry’s tell-all memoir ‘Spare’.
However, King Charles III, since the birth of Prince Harry, has been a bit distant from him. Princess Diana told Andrew Morton that after Harry’s birth, their marriage started falling apart. In new audio tapes, Diana also confessed that the now-monarch wanted a daughter. Now, a source says that King Charles III wanted a daughter who would not have betrayed him instead of the Duke of Sussex.

King Charles III Is Not Backing From His Comments About Wanting A Daughter Instead Of Prince Harry
While reports about the reconciliation between Prince Harry and King Charles III were making the rounds, new audio tapes by Princess Diana were released ahead of her new documentary. The documentary titled ‘Diana: The Rest of Her Story’ will be released in 2024. Before Diana’s tragic death, she handed some audio tapes to Andrew Morton, which she recorded in the 1990s.
In one of the audios, Princess Diana talked about how Prince Harry’s birth bothered King Charles III because he wanted a daughter. She said, “Because, at Harry’s christening, Charles went up to mummy and said, ‘You know we were so disappointed, we thought it would be a girl.’ “ Diana’s stepmother said, “You should realize how lucky you are to have a child that’s normal.”
Princess Diana added, “a shutter’s come down, and that’s what he does when he gets somebody answering back at him.”
However, a source told the National Enquirer that Charles wanted a daughter who would not have betrayed him like Prince Harry. The source said, “Word is Charles isn’t backing away from his past comments. I’m told he feels a daughter wouldn’t have betrayed him as Harry has by trashing the family publicly and quitting his duties to live in the States with wife Meghan.”
The insider added, “And of course, if Harry were a girl, there would be no Meghan.”

The Monarch Has Conditions To Reconcile With The Duke Of Sussex
There was chatter that Prince Harry would meet King Charles III during his visit to London for the WellChild Awards. The speculation was that the son and father would reunite on the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II. Ok! Magazine said that after the end of the Invictus Games, the Duke of Sussex would have met him before Charles’ state meeting in France. But, due to the significance of the meeting, it will not happen in September 2023.
But a source told The Daily Mirror that there is still hope that Prince Harry and King Charles III will meet, but the latter has some conditions. The source said, “The King loves his son very much but he has been mortally wounded by what he has done.”
The source added, “He will always be there for him but draws the line at public slanging matches. If the talks take place, the King will make it very clear that there will be absolutely no private family business discussed in public moving forward. Staff are trying to fine-tune the details.”
