Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been almost ousted from the royal family after the public humiliation. The couple stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and have since moved to Montecito, in the US. But Harry and Meghan continued to slander the royal family’s public image.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sought out various media to chronicle their stories of abuse and harassment at the hands of the royal family. They starred in the six-part docuseries on Netflix titled ‘Harry & Meghan’, where the couple shared some bombshell confessions. From calling Prince William a bully to suffering a miscarriage due to the media, it had it all. However, one observation about Queen Elizabeth by Meghan irked Harry.
Meghan Markle Called Queen Elizabeth II Medieval
Before ‘Harry & Meghan’ was released on Netflix in December 2022, Queen Elizabeth II passed away in September 2022. Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were present during the funeral of Harry’s late grandmother, despite the rifts with the royal family. But, during the Netflix docuseries, Meghan made a statement that offended Prince Harry.
Meghan Markle compared Queen Elizabeth II to the monarch of medieval times. During the docuseries, Meghan said, “Now I’m starting to realize ‘This is a big deal’. I mean, Americans will understand this… We have medieval times, dinner and tournament. It was like that.”
Harry talked about the difficulty in explaining to someone the curtsy toward the late monarch. He said, “How do you explain that to people? How do you explain that you bow to your grandmother? And that you will need to curtsy. Especially to an American. That’s weird.”

After leaving the royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle carved their niche in Hollywood by striking various deals with brands like Netflix and Spotify. With Netflix, the couple has delivered three docuseries and many projects are still under development. However, Harry has started missing home, which has made Meghan frustrated.
Mark Boardman told OK! Magazine that Prince Harry wants to reconnect with his old friends in London. Mark said, “Prince Harry’s social life has notably shifted over the past decade. He appears to have distanced himself from his college friends and lacks a permanent UK residence.”
However, Meghan is happy living in the USA, so Prince Harry’s homesickness has left her frustrated. Mark continued, “Meghan is frustrated that Harry wants his old life back. Meghan loves Harry, but she wants to bring out the better side in him. And she’s quite clear on the roles that they should take together and they are trying to work better together on projects.”
